Capture the Club: The 2026 WWYC Photo Competition Is Live!

Whether you’re catching the perfect sunset from the deck, capturing the intensity of a weekend race, or spotting local wildlife along the water, we know our members have a keen eye for what makes life at the club so special.

We are thrilled to officially launch the 2026 WWYC Photo Competition! Grab your cameras (or smartphones) and show us the club through your lens.

Here is everything you need to know to enter:

📸 The Categories

You can submit entries into any of the following three categories:

• Life at the Club: Social events, camaraderie, volunteering, and the vibrant community spirit of WWYC.

• The Beauty of the Boat: Sailing action shots, stunning hulls, sleek rigging, and the art of being on the water.

• Wildlife & Environment: The natural beauty surrounding our club, from coastal birds to dramatic skies and waterscapes.

📝 Competition Rules & Regulations

Before you submit, please review the official guidelines below:

• Eligibility: The competition is open exclusively to current WWYC members. All photographs must be your own original work.

• Submission Limit: Members may submit a maximum of 5 photos in total across the entire competition.

• File Naming: To help our committee track entries, please use the following naming convention for your image files before uploading/sending:

  category_yourname_phototitle (e.g., lifeattheclub_johnsmith_sunsetgables.jpg)

• Copyright: By entering, you retain the copyright to your work, but you grant WWYC permission to display your photos on our website, social media, and club newsletters.

🏆 Prizes & Judging

All entries will be reviewed by the Club Member Committee.

To keep things highly competitive, the committee will be awarding four prizes in total:

• Category Winners: 1 winner will be chosen from each of the three categories. Each winner will receive a beautiful, high-quality framed print of their winning shot.

• The Grand Prize: 1 overall Judges' Choice winner will be selected from the entire pool of entries for ultimate bragging rights and a special club commendation.

🗓️ Deadline & How to Enter

• Closing Date: All entries must be received by 23:00 on August 26, 2026. Late entries will not be counted.
