A Splashing Success: Looking Back at Our Incredible Open Day!

What a day! The docks were buzzing, the sun was shining, and our recent yacht club open day completely exceeded expectations. It was fantastic to throw open our doors and welcome the local community down to the marina for a day packed with on-water thrills, family-friendly activities, and brilliant local entertainment.

If you joined us, thank you for making it so special. If you missed out, here is a recap of all the highlights that made the day unforgettable!

High-Speed Thrills on the River Crouch

One of the undisputed highlights of the day was the action out on the water. Everyone couldn't get enough of the RIB rides up and down the River Crouch. A massive thank you goes out to Essex Powerboat School for providing the boats and skippers—the smiles, laughter, and occasional splash said it all as guests experienced the river at top speed!

Hook, Line, and Local Knowledge

For those looking to learn a bit more about life beneath the surface, Debbie Lou Fishing Charters brought their fishing boat down for the day. They did a fantastic job displaying their vessel and sharing expert tips, teaching the local community a whole lot about fishing and local marine life.

Creativity Aboard: Burgee Making & Live Printing

Back on dry land, our craft stall was a hive of creativity. Kids and adults alike dived headfirst into our burgee-making competition, designing their own miniature club flags.

Benjimin took home the kids' prize, winning a fantastic remote control speed boat!
Jen claimed the adult title, walking away with a well-deserved bottle of Grey Goose.

We also hosted live t-shirt printing featuring custom nautical designs. It was such a brilliant sight seeing so many people proudly wearing their freshly printed shirts as they walked around the marina afterward.

Good Food and Great Tunes

All that excitement certainly worked up an appetite! River Breeze Bar and Cafe kept everyone fueled with a incredible BBQ, serving up delicious food that hit the spot. To top it all off, we were treated to fantastic, highly entertaining live music from Raffles, setting the perfect relaxed summertime soundtrack for the afternoon.

A Heartfelt Thank You

An event of this scale doesn't just happen overnight. We want to extend a massive thank you to all of our club members who volunteered their time to help run the day smoothly.

Special recognition goes to Commodore Andrew and Hon Secretary Tom for their incredible hard work and dedication in organizing such a memorable event for our community.
