Ready to meet your new management team?

Our Commodore, captains the Princess 388 Revolution and brings over 45 years of maritime experience to the club. Andrew’s journey began at age 13 sailing Wayfarers at Fairlop Lake, eventually owning a Fireball dinghy by age 14 before moving into speedboats like the Broom Scorpio and Glastron. After a brief hiatus to focus on building a business, Andrew returned to the water with a Bayliner cruiser in 2005, eventually upgrading to his current vessel in 2019. Beyond the club, you’ll find Andrew exploring the Cotswolds or surfing at West Wittering, reflecting a deep-rooted love for the water and the local coastline.
Since joining WWYC in 2019, Andrew has been dedicated to revitalising the club’s energy and steering it toward a successful future. With over three decades of experience as a business owner and trustee, Andrew provides the professional leadership and legislative insight necessary to manage a viable organisation. He is currently focused on building a robust sponsorship network to drive membership growth and fostering stronger engagement with Fambridge Yacht Havens and other local authorities. For Andrew, the goal is to ensure the club remains a thriving, active hub that is deeply connected to the wider boating community.
ANDREW ROGERS
Commodore

NICK & MARIE JONES
Vice & Rear Commodore
Serving as our Vice Commodore and Rear Commodore respectively, Nick and Marie Jones bring an incredible wealth of international sailing experience to the club aboard their Jeanneau SO40, Manic. Their journey began 20 years ago after transitioning from active SCUBA diving, eventually leading Nick and Marie to become full-time liveaboards in 2016 to pursue more challenging voyages. During their three years living at sea, Nick and Marie completed an impressive array of milestones, including a circumnavigation of Britain, an extensive Baltic tour, and a crossing of the Bay of Biscay to Northern Spain. Since returning to dry land in 2019 and berthing at North Fambridge, Nick and Marie have continued their adventures with recent expeditions to the Scillies, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Having joined WWYC during its reformation in 2022, Nick and Marie are now dedicated to sharing their deep maritime knowledge and technical expertise with our members. While Nick and Marie still hold a special fondness for the Channel Islands and local favorites like Brightlingsea, their primary focus on the committee is to modernise and improve how the club interacts with its community. Nick and Marie believe that clear, effective communication across multiple channels is the key to keeping current members engaged while successfully recruiting new ones. By leveraging their years of sailing experience, Nick and Marie are working hard to ensure the club is a well-informed, vibrant, and welcoming environment for everyone.

TOM ROGERS
Hon Secretary
Our Club Secretary is a familiar face aboard the Princess 388 Revolution, where he serves as a key crew member—though he is often found fighting for captaincy of the Yamaha dinghy tender strapped to the back. Tom grew up on the water, spending his childhood weekends with the Commodore, on their previous Bayliner 2958. While the engineering and tinkering may be lost on him, he still remembers his most important role on the boat, making a good cuppa. Those early years fostered a deep connection to the river. After a hiatus for university, Tom has rediscovered his love for the water at age 28 and enjoys nothing more than a trip to Bradwell or anchoring at Cliff for a summer BBQ in the sun, just as he did as a child.
Bringing a modern, professional edge to the committee, Tom utilises his university background in Design and Communication and his current career in marketing to revitalise the club’s digital presence. Tom is the driving force behind the club’s website, social media, and email communications, offering a fresh perspective that bridges the gap between traditional boating and modern outreach. Tom is passionate about increasing the tangible value of membership at WWYC, believing that the club’s success lies in offering a wider variety of activities and events. By combining his creative insights with his "outsider-turned-insider" viewpoint, Tom is dedicated to ensuring the club provides meaningful experiences that keep every member engaged.

DEREK 'DEL' BROWN
Hon Treasurer
Since April 2018, Del has been the driving force behind the preservation of the club's physical heart. Choosing to forgo retirement when the future of the clubhouse was at risk, Del stepped in to take over the lease, ensuring that club members, berth holders, visitors, and local villagers alike would always have a welcoming space to gather. Alongside his wife, Joane, he has transformed the River breeze Bar & Cafe into a thriving community hub, driven by the belief that the marina should be a focal point for the entire village.
While he doesn't come from a traditional maritime background, Del provides the essential financial stewardship that keeps the club on a steady course. As Honorary Treasurer, he manages the club fiscal health with the same dedication he brings to the clubhouse floor, balancing the books to ensure long-term sustainability. Currently, Del is fooucsed on reinvesting in the River Breeze facilities and working closely with the marina to secure a bright future for the organisation. For Del, the reward is in the community's energy; he remains committed to ensuring the club remains a happy, inclusive, and financially sound environment for everyone who walks through the doors.
